Ad-Hoc Committees
Ad-Hoc Committees are committees that do not operate on the normal January to December cycle. There are two Ad-Hoc Committees that we rely on each year. The EXPO planning committee is formed in October, comprised of a committee head and 4-6 members, and is responsible of all aspects of our spring EXPO Job Fair. Each January, the Grand Prix Ad-Hoc Committee comes together to build, prepare, and race PESC’s kart in Purdue’s annual Grand Prix go-kart race. Any PESC member can join these committees, and they serve on them in addition to their regular committee commitments.
Aside from EXPO and Grand Prix, additional Ad-Hoc Committees will be formed at the discretion of the Executive Committee when a specific need arises. In the past, this has included the formation of an IT committee to assess current IT needs and develop PESC’s new website. Another instance where an Ad-Hoc Committee may be formed is if PESC is hosting and upcoming regional or national NAESC (National Association of Engineering Student Councils) Conference.
