Engineering Relations

The goal of the Engineering Relations Committee is to develop relationships between students, faculty, engineering organizations, and alumni. The committee organizes activities designed to provide interaction for engineers on campus as well as engineering alumni in industry. The committee also facilitates interaction between engineering organizations on campus and provides ways for them to collaborate.

  • ENGINEER’S WEEK – A national celebration of engineering held in February. The week is filled with events to highlight the various aspects of engineering to the community and also to provide fun activities to engineers on campus. Events during Engineers Week are designed to involve many different engineering organizations on campus. PESC hosts a two-day blood drive and “Human Tetris”.
  • MERIT FUND – a scholarship program for engineering student organizations on campus. PESC provides grants for other Purdue Engineering student organizations in order to help finance projects and events.
  • ALUMNI RELATIONS – maintain communication with PESC alumni currently in industry. In addition to informing alumni of current campus news, the committee also attempts to bring alumni back to campus and allow them to interact with current students.
  • ENGINEERING YOUR MAJOR AND INDUSTRY SOCIAL SEMINARS – Organize seminars to introduce freshmen engineering students to the various disciplines within Engineering and inform them of the options available to those with engineering degrees in industry.
