NAESC 2017 Information

The NAESC National Conference gathers 300+ students from engineering student councils across the country together for leadership development, council chats, and professional exposure. NAESC conferences have been used as a good opportunity for students and companies alike to connect with one another personally and professionally through company-led seminars and planned networking times. In addition, the conference Council Chats allow for all the different councils to exchanges ideas and communicate the ways they have been able to promote student success. Some topics for these include engineering outreach, faculty engagement, Engineers Week events, and career fairs!

The National Association of Engineering Student Councils (NAESC) was established in 1983 by students from the Purdue Engineering Student Council (PESC) as an avenue for Engineering Student Councils from around the United States to communicate and share ideas to be more effective organizations at their home schools. With this, NAESC works to:
- Facilitate communications among member councils,
- Promote engineering education,
- Organize programs and events,
- Provide a resource of information about engineering student activities, and
- Serve as a collective voice for engineering student councils.

Within the past years, PESC's Industrial Roundtable has been awarded Event of the Year by NAESC multiple times because the job fair is one of the largest events of its kind and has become a standard for other student-run organizations at campuses across the country. Most recently, NAESC awarded PESC with Best Council in the Nation in 2014.

Transportation Recommendations:
Unfortunately, transportation to Purdue University is not provided for the NAESC National Conference. However, there are various methods that can be useful in getting to Purdue.

I-65 runs directly through Lafayette, and is the quickest way to get to Purdue from anywhere North or South. Purdue University is only about a 15 minute drive away once off the highway.

Both the Indianapolis Airport and Chicago O'Hare Airport are close to Purdue University. However, we recommend the Indianapolis Airport as it is about a 1.25 hour drive to Purdue, whereas O'Hare is close to a 3 hour drive. Both options have many shuttles that run between the airport and Purdue University.

Indianapolis Airport:
Star of America
Lafayette Limo

Chicago O'Hare Airport:
Lafayette Limo
EAC Shuttle
Reindeer Shuttle
