The Merit Fund was started as a way for PESC to give back to Purdue's engineering community by providing monetary support for engineering organizations on campus. Through this award, PESC strives to encourage and facilitate the creation and implementation of a wide array of engineering related activities and programs that will have an impact on Purdue and the community. Funds are awarded in both the fall and spring semesters after an application and interview process.
The organization must be a student-run Purdue University Engineering organization. It is not necessary to have “engineering” in the title of the organization; however, the project should involve facilitating interest in engineering or promoting the knowledge of engineering principles. The finances awarded through Merit Fund are intended to support one-time future project costs. In the past, such funds have supported various outreach programs, research, and engineering-related goals. The funds may not be used for catering social events, creating logo wear, etc.
